Kuminya Café, a two-story traditional building in the back alley of Kagurazaka, has been known for its rich Japanese sweets and exquisite meals since it opened in 2003. Originally a Japanese restaurant, it became an independent cafe because of its delicious desserts.

The best-selling item is the "hekira", sold exclusively at the main shop, which consists of sencha pastry, original ice cream, seasonal sauces, etc. Each piece is carefully crafted and has a deep flavour. [Housed in a 1947 wooden one-storey building with lush greenery, this cafe is a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. The cafe offers a wide variety of desserts and drinks, and the matcha series is particularly popular, with the "Rich Matcha Sangyo" and "Matcha Latte" recommended.

The building dates back to the Edo and Meiji periods, and the name of the original owner, Fukino, is on the plaque. Activities to promote Japanese culture, such as tea ceremony classes, are held regularly.

This is a matcha specialty shop opened by Maruyama Seaweed Shop, which was founded in 1854. Located on the 5th floor of the Kabukiza Building, the interior design was created by architect Kengo Kuma in the image of a bamboo forest, with a rooftop garden right outside the window.

At this shop, you can enjoy high-quality tea and homemade matcha barfi, with a variety of teas such as matcha, tamarind, sencha, and bakucha, as well as desserts. The wakame in the set comes from the Shiouse Sohonke family, which has been in business for more than 670 years.
