Asakusa is a popular tourist destination in Tokyo, bringing together well-known attractions such as the TOKYO SKYTREE, Raimon and Japan's oldest temple, Asakusa-ji.

Nakadori Sesshong Street, the busy street leading to the main hall of the temple, is always crowded and filled with traditional snack and souvenir shops. We have compiled a list of the best snacks and desserts in Asakusa to take you on an easy exploration of the surrounding area.

01
Asakusaseisakujo

Tempura is often served with rice or noodles, but Asakusa Works has innovated by making it a snack for sightseeing. Their tempura is processed under high pressure to turn into crispy chips in two minutes, and is made to order to ensure that it is freshly baked and delicious every time you enjoy it. The chips can also be flavoured with yuzu, wasabi or super-spicy salt.

Asakusatakotako×koromokyoudai

Their takoyaki is very famous for its soft texture, fluffy on the outside and thick on the inside. We recommend their takoyaki taco, which is two takoyaki sandwiched between a prawn cracker and topped with takoyaki sauce, mayonnaise and koromo batter. Enjoy as soon as possible to avoid softening of the crackers.
